John Seway La Coincidencia Remix's available on Beatport
Having already scored hits on some of the most highly respected labels within the scene, Spanish pairing of Iván Ramos (Coyu) and Edu Imbernon are hotly tipped as future stars of tech house. Stand out releases for liebe*detail, Great Stuff and Diynamic have brought international acclaim to the duo and so it is with great pleasure that we introduce this release for Tronic.
Arriving just in time for the European summer, La Coincidencia is a sultry but intense slice of percussive house music sure to move the floor with its ear-catching vocal snippets and heavy chugging bassline.
John Selway makes a long-overdue return to Tronic via two remixes on this release. John's Mysterious remix toughens up the percussive Latin groove and adds in a good dose of atmosphere via a shimmering syth line and chopped up vocal loop.
The Forward remix strips things back even more; taking the emphasis away from the tribal Latin feel of the original and bringing out the power of the drums and synth to create a more linear, heads-down groove for the more underground floors.

wurst boat party featuring Neurotic Drum Band
Wurst's annual boat party features a special headlining set by Neurotic Drum Band, a collab between longtime producers DJ Ulysses and John Selway. Last winter, Neurotic Drum Band took dance floors by storm with "Robotic Erotic Adventure," a sexy old-but-new track that traipsed between piano house and acid to devastating effect. In a world of electronic-music hit and runs, John Selway is a rare beast: an innovator and originator whose current work genuinely rivals his groundbreaking early projects. And while the DC-born, NYC-based producer and DJ has left his mark on countless styles, he’s defined by none of them, remaining devoted to his own multi-faceted muse.
These days, Selway is best known for the ecstatic rush of “Total Departure,” his top-selling single with partner in crime Christian Smith, and for CSM, his long-running deep and minimal label. But Selway’s roots run deeper than most. He helped spark the late-‘90s electro scene at the helm of Seratonin Records; he contributed to the early days of deep-house luminaries Deep Dish; he produced hard, acid-laced techno with Disintegrator and mind-bending trance tracks with Oliver Chesler (aka The Horrorist) in Koenig Cylinders; and he released a string of remixes with living legend Carl Cox.
As a DJ and live act, John Selway has performed the world over. When he’s not filling rooms, he collaborates relentlessly: with DJ Ulysses as Neurotic Drum Band, with his longtime friend Abe Duque, and with his CSM label partner Dave Turov. Still, Selway’s own productions and remixes are the center of his musical world—a little techno, a little house; as good in headphones as they are at 115 dBs on the dancefloor. In other words, the work of a consummate professional working at the height of his powers.
