Telic EP reviewed by Resident Advisor

Dec 21st 2011
Despite accusations of sonic facelessness, with such a stripped back, gimmick-free aesthetic, it's surely hard for Shifted's sonic fingerprint to be that conspicuous. What does mark out the three tracks here, though, is their palpable presence. For example, even though closer "Image-Channel" is basically empty space, the huge and cavernous chambers rumble and echo as if you're really trapped inside them during an ongoing earthquake.

"The Politics Of Dying" reviewed by DJ Mag Spain

There is so much drone techno about that finding an individualistic release is difficult. Sigha is a relative newcomer, but 'Dying' stands out thanks to its bleeding acid line and hissing hats. The real selling point here is the remixes: Shifted turns the track into a seductively deep techno groove, and better still is James Ruskin's version. Departing from the panning rhythms he is known for, the UK producer drops an atmospheric remix based on a tripped-out melody line.

Sigha Over the Edge/Earily Morning Featured Review on Little White EarBuds

Aug 13th 2010

With the boundaries of dubstep still wide open to new interpretations, Sigha has pursued novel ideas and embraced varying influences in a manner that’s similarly difficult hard to categorize. His tracks encompass elements similar to the brackish, sub-aquatic tones of Norman Nodge, reflect common ground with the minimal-esque production of Ben Klock and draw intense parallels with the SCB project of Sigha’s sort of mentor, Scuba. Sigha’s Rawww EP was one of 2009’s the standout records, even drawing some comparisons with Berlin’s half step, future funk auteur Shed without seeming too sensational. His latest, which arrives on the artists’ newly launched Our Circula Sound imprint, builds on the attention grabbing yet keenly subtle sound he’s developed across several records for home base Hotflush Recordings and Immerse Records.
