Resident Advisor has featured Brendon Moeller's production methods and hardware in their most recent Machine Love article, along with the production of his album "Subterranean". 

Daniel Petry writes, "This sense of going with the flow—of taking paths as and when they crop up—is reflected in his music. His billowing dub techno builds and morphs organically, rather than following rigid sequences. It's not a coincidence that his studio and production methods have developed like this too."

Modern dub techno has become techno's adult contemporary, taking a pleasant and once experimental sound into the doldrums of repetitive formula. Brendon Moeller has long fought against this homogenization (armed with more aliases than a fugitive on the lam), and usually sets aside his Echologist moniker for his most conventionally techno material. His recently launched Steadfast imprint has had no shortage of Echologist releases, ranging from the powerful tech house of "Giant" to the plundering dub techno of "Slow Burn" or the flowing ribbons of "Just a Ride." This flurry of activity culminates in a second artist album under the alias.

New York based South African, Brendon Moeller has been producing music since 1994. His compositions have been released on Francois K's Deep Space Media, Third Ear Records, Echocord, Mule Musiq, Leena Music, Eskimo recordings, Rekids and more. He records as Brendon Moeller, Beat Pharmacy and Echologist. Dub, techno, jazz, afrobeat and psychedelia are inspirations that appear in most of his music. Whether it be serious dancefloor bizniz, or dubbed out bass-scapes, his music always possesses a quality and signature that have helped him become the prolific force he is today. He has also collaborated with some of the great dub vocalists of our time, including Mutabaruka, Spaceape, Mikey Dread and Paul St. Hilaire amongst others.
For the last four years Brendon has been touring as a DJ and live performer and is fast becoming a sought after act at venues such as Berghain, Fabric, Cielo, Air, Tape, Mutek, Vecchia Fattoria and more.
Brendon has new releases coming on Mule Musiq, Connaisseur Recordings, Echocord, Deep Space Media, two EP's on his own imprint, Steadfast Records and a whole bunch of remixes!

Echologist's latest album Subterranean has just won praise in its review by Resident Advisor.  Andrew Ryce writes, "Perhaps most impressive of all is how Moeller relocates the true essence of techno, finding energy in billowing textures rather than a kick drum or hi-hat pattern. It may be beatless, but Subterranean is a techno album, avoiding the pitfalls of the classifications "ambient" and "dub techno" while sitting comfortably in both."

Brendon Moller o lo que es lo mismo Echologist y Beat Pharmacy es una de las apuestas del dub techno europeo que más fuerza lleva tomando en los últimos tiempos, gracias a sus trabajos para sellos de la crew mundial como es Ostgut Ton, Rekids, Mule, Electric Deluxe o Deep Space Media.  Su perspectiva del dub techno ha tenido una repercusión mediática muy importante y hahora se lanza a un trabajo en formato autor y de larga duración.

Dal 2005 Brendon Moeller proietta su Echologist il suo ego compositivo legato ad un flusso sonoro concepito in modo simile a quello di una soundtrack ma vissuto attraverso un istinto più denso, emozionale e distaccato dalla realtà. Un gran senso di pathos permea integralmente il suo secondo album, a sei anni da “Explorations Vol. 1″, mosaico di drones che fungono da piedistallo per una cascata di onde sognanti.
