They say that it takes two to tango, and for Buenos Aires’ Jonas Kopp, that means the indivisible duo of house and techno. Kopp’s own productions tend toward the dark and steely sound of classic warehouse techno—just check the Berghain-sized ‘Z Reticulus’, for the Ilian Tape label—while his DJ sets open up to include sweeter, swingier sounds, as evidenced by his Weekend Weapons picks from Mathew Jonson and the Smallville label.

The 29-year-old producer hit the ground running in 2006, releasing a steady stream of tracks and EPs for the local MindTrip Music label before getting snapped up bySpectral Sound. These days you’ll find him everywhere from International Freakshow to CMYK Musik to Traum and Trapez; this week Curle Recordings released his ‘Ruda’ EP, his second record for the Belgian label, featuring four tracks of cavernously deep dub techno.
