Perc Trax welcomes Derek Plaslaiko to the label for a full EP after the success of his recent remix of Perc's '1909'. Brought up near Detroit then moving to New York and now residing in Berlin, Derek is a man with a history almost as long as techno itself. From early gigs alongside Ricardo Villalobos, Richie Hawtin, Baby Ford and Kevin Saunderson, to being asked by Carl Craig to play at the inaugural edition of the world-famous Detroit Electronic Music Festival, Derek has been there and has the scars to prove it.

Across this EP Derek mixes rough 'n' ready techno with subtle melodic touch. 'Raw Jam' fills the A-side and lives up to its name as a droning bassline battles it out with classic Roland drum sounds. The Glass Bead Game is a different beast altogether as an evolving synth line glides over rushing percussion.

For the remixes Perc Trax welcomes its first artists from both Finland and Argentina. First up is Jonas Kopp (Ostgut Ton/Spectral), who turns in an even grimier take on Raw Jam. Adding a classic jackin' feel to the track this remix is perfectly designed for those early morning basement sessions. Samuli Kemppi (Mote Evolver/Ostgut Ton) scatters splinters of Derek's melodies from The Glass Bead Game over his own slighter darker groove to offer a stripped down, dubbed-out take on the original mix.
